Having graduated in Law as an LLB Hons he took the ‘obvious’ step of being a door-to-door salesman. He then worked in Australia for Rank Xerox, and returned to the UK for a wide ranging career with the Blue-chip company ICI. Christopher has many years experience in management development. He has seen the full range of commercial activity, from small to large business interaction, and from ‘both sides of the table’. He has been a sales rep, a sales manager, a corporate buyer and a director of purchasing. This has given him not only a unique insight into the whole commercial arena, it has also provided him with very extensive management experience of the real world. Christopher is an NLP practitioner and is a skilled Mcber competency interviewer. His style is always to combine sound theoretical ideas into the real practical world. He challenges convention and can open up thinking through a relaxed and engaging style. He is a popular speaker at international conventions, and is a regular writer for business magazines. He has co-authored a book commissioned by the major US publisher John Wiley & Sons ‘Buying for Business’ and has a second book ‘Mosaic Management’ to be published shortly. Christopher has wide international experience, his business, speaking and development engagements have taken him all over East and West Europe, The Far East, Latin America, USA, Australia and the Caribbean. Having held senior positions in Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing and Corporate Planning he became European General Manager of Perspex.
Since leaving ICI, Chris has been Managing Director of Wolstenholme International Ltd, a VC backed MBO, FOSS Britain and Ireland and Managing Director, Foils Europe at API Group plc. Following 20 months as a director of the recruitment company, Robinson Keane, he became a director of The Greystone Partnership and is now an associate of Rowan Partners, a highly successful board level recruitment group. He is well placed to provide expert support and advice to companies in areas such as leadership, change management and business culture as well as on key recruitment needs. An alumnus of INSEAD and a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, Chris has an active non-executive portfolio and has been Chairman of Dantec Ltd and sole non-executive director of Pentagon Chemicals Ltd. Both Dantec and Pentagon were sold successfully in recent months to trade buyers. He has also previously been a director of the British Coatings Federation, Blackburn Groundwork and a member of the CBI North West Regional Council. Chris has extensive experience and valuable insights into a wide range of business sectors and offers his clients strong support through a clear and current understanding of their business circumstances and needs.
