1st Line Technical Support/Helpdesk Specialist (Manchester/Cheshire)

Greystone is looking for a Technical Support Specialist in the South Manchester / Cheshire area to join its growing team of consultants. The candidate’s primary role will be day-to-day 1st line technical support and network administration of the client’s IT networks as well as internal technical support of Greystone’s own systems.

Some previous experience working within Windows-based network support/administration would be advantageous.

Role responsibilities include 1st line support and user coaching by telephone and in person, user account administration, client access permission management, desktop rollout, application installations and maintenance, software update installations, hardware/license auditing, server administration, creating and maintaining policy and support documentation.

The role will provide the right candidate with great training opportunities and the potential for progression in the technical support arena with an established and growing IT consultancy.

Candidate Profile:

  • A responsive attitude to customer support and a very strong work ethic are essential.
  • Being approachable and confident when working with all levels of customers in person and by phone or video call.
  • Previous experience working on a helpdesk or IT support role would be useful
  • Candidates should be based in South Manchester / Cheshire and must hold a current driving license and own a reliable car or alternative means of getting to client premises.
  • Travel to the Crewe area and Manchester city centre should be expected 3-4 times a week initially.

Hours: Full time – 9 am to 5:30 pm with some reasonable out-of-hours work.

Location: Client sites in Manchester, Cheshire and home working.

Travel: Some UK based travel should be expected. Mainly in the Northwest.

Holidays: 25 days per year.

Remuneration: Salary negotiable depending on skill and experience. Plus an annual bonus based on personal and company performance.

Training: The successful candidate will have opportunities for formal training (CompTIA and Microsoft) and access to Greystone training resources and full support and coaching from senior staff and the wider team.
